I grew up walking the red dust roads of Naireggie Enkare in Kenya. Back then, my life was defined by the rhythm of the land and the weight of a water jerrican. As a barefoot boy from a small village, it was easy to feel unseen—like my life was "tied up" in a place the rest of the world had forgotten.

The Hidden Vessel: "The Lord Needs It"

In the Gospel, before Jesus entered Jerusalem, He sent His disciples on a very specific mission: “Go into the village ahead of you... You will find a donkey tied there, one that no one has ever ridden. Untie it and bring it to Me.”

Jesus didn't ask for a creature with a grand pedigree or a track record of worldly success. He simply gave the disciples four words to say if anyone questioned them: “The Lord needs it.”

That donkey was unnoticed by the crowds. To the world, it was just a common animal tied to a post. But Jesus saw its purpose before He ever saw its face. He knew exactly where it was hidden, and He knew it was the specific vessel chosen to carry the King.

Why Your Value Isn't Found in the Applause

In the journey from Kenya to the United States, it is easy to get caught up in the chase for "fame" or "status." But the donkey reminds us of a different truth. When it carried Jesus into Jerusalem, it walked on expensive garments and palm branches.
