Why my story matters to you...

My Roots: The Red Dust of Naireggie Enkare

Faith and Family
  • The Discipline of a Mother: My mother was a housewife, a shopkeeper, and a farmer. She raised six children with a firm hand and an unwavering faith. She taught us that being "properly dressed and disciplined" for church wasn't just about appearance—it was about respect for the Creator.

  • The Wisdom of a Father: My father spent eleven months of the year working at a lodge in the Maasai Mara. From him, I learned the value of hard work and, eventually, the greatest lesson of my life: humility. His final exhortion to me from Philippians 2:1–6 remains the compass for my character today.

  • The Grit of the Village: My "roots" involve 2 a.m. treks to the Ilkilagarien Dam to fetch water for livestock before the school bell even rang. I walked barefoot on cold dirt roads, not just to get an education, but to survive.

These roots taught me that poverty is a circumstance, not an identity. They gave me a perspective that no amount of success in the West could ever replace.

I am a son of the Maasai land. My story begins in a small village in southern Kenya called Naireggie Enkare. Life there was defined by the rhythm of the land and the strength of my parents.

My journey is not a story of "self-made" success; it is a testimony of being carried when I couldn't stand. If you’ve ever felt like you had to be perfect to be significant, or if you’ve ever felt defined by your past, I invite you to read on.

Welcome to the journey.

Why my story matters to you...

My story begins in a small village in southern Kenya. My "commute" as a boy involved 2 a.m. treks to fetch water for our livestock before the school bell rang. Walking those dirt roads barefoot taught me that poverty is a circumstance, not an identity. My parents—a mother with unwavering faith and a father who taught me that humility is the only real strength—gave me a perspective that no amount of success in the West could ever replace.

The "VIP" Trap and the Refining Fire

Moving to America was a dream, but I quickly learned that a change in zip code doesn't change the soul. I’ve experienced the highs of entrepreneurship and the lows of heavy debt. I’ve been the "VIP" in my own head, and I’ve been the man broken by his own ego.

Let’s be clear: I am not perfect. I never have been, and I’ve never claimed to be. I’m not about to start listing my many sins here—partly because I don’t want you judging me, but mostly because the best part of my story is that they have all been forgiven. And the even better news? Yours have been, too.

My Mission

Today, my mission is to Live, Act, Serve, and Talk like my Lord Jesus Christ. Because I have been Saved, Accepted, Loved, and Transformed (S.A.L.T.), I am passionate about helping others find that same sense of peace and direction.

As a fellow traveler, Tim Maloi shares reflections on faith, leadership, business, family, and purposeful living. My hope is to offer the kind of guidance, wisdom, and inspiration that helps you grow personally, professionally, and spiritually—wherever your own journey has taken you.

A Final Thought: The Road We Walk Together 🌿

If you’ve read this far, please know this: My story is not a trophy; it is an invitation. If a barefoot boy from the red dust of Kenya can be brought this far—through the refining fires of his own mistakes and the quiet miracles of grace—then there is no limit to what can happen in your life, too. Your background, your past failures, and your current struggles are not the end of your book. They are simply the chapters that make the resolution so much sweeter.

My goal is to Live, Act, Serve, and Talk like the One who saved me, but I do it with trembling hands and a heart that is still being mended every day. I don’t have all the answers, but I have found the One who does.

So, whether you are here for business wisdom, family encouragement, or a spark of spiritual hope, you don’t have to walk alone. Let’s seek truth together. Let’s lead with kindness. And above all, let’s remember that we are Saved, Accepted, Loved, and Transformed.

If a barefoot boy from a village in Kenya can be brought this far, please know this: He is not finished with you. Your background, your mistakes, and your current lack of opportunity cannot stop what God has planned.

God is faithful. He sees you. Your story is still being written.

The door is always open. I’m so glad you’re here.
